Twitter expands post characters limit to 280

Yes, finally this happened! Twitter is well known for its 140 character limit microblogging social media strategy. But today Twitter officially announced that they are going to replace 140 characters limit with 280.

Now we can write a 280 characters post on twitter. In last September Twitter gave hints about the same update but now they officially have declared that they are replacing 140 characters with 280 from today.

This new update will help people express their feelings over social media with a better length of texts. And this might be another opportunity to write some SEO friendly posts for digital marketers, as we already know some keyword related tweets appear on the top of search results.

What do you think about this change? Is it going to do anything better or the old 140 limit was the perfect size for twitter?
